Vietnam Reopening from 1 January 2022

December 21, 2021

Since the first global outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic in the early of 2020, Vietnam has suspended the entry of all foreigners to limit the spread of this virus. Now it has been almost 2 years and some highlights on Vietnamese changes to adapt to “New Normal Conditions” will be listed out in this post.

From November 2021, Vietnam is on the go to reopen 5 key tourist destinations including Da Nang, Quang Nam, Phu Quoc, Cam Ranh and Van Don for vaccinated visitors. In the first phase, foreigners are allowed to enjoy quarantine-free travel within a 7-day tour and their visa can be extended on their real demand.

The second phase will start from January 2022 with some new eases. Firstly, quarantine requirements for fully-vaccinated visitors are changed to 3 days. And you can self-quarantine at home or accommodation which meets medical standards if you are holding negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test results.

Secondly, Government of Vietnam has approved the resumption of the regular commercial international flights between Vietnam and highly safe countries and territories such as Beijing/Guangzhou (China), Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (the Republic of Korea), Taiwan, Bangkok (Thailand), Singapore, Vientiane (Laos), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), San Francisco/Los Angeles (the United States).

Let us update you if any changes come and we will soon provide you with more details about how to get a Vietnam visa at that time.
