Question: Apply Vietnam tourist visa for Russian citizen
Dear Sir:
My son,who is Russian citizen, permanently living in Mongolia, traveling to Vietnam to attend children’s camp in July for 17 days.
What is the best way to get visa.
My understanding is Russian citizens don’t need visa for 15 days. Is is possible to get visa for 2 days upon arrival? Or it is better to get it from Mongolia?
Regards,
Yura Kherlenbayar
Answer
Dear Yura Kherlenbayar,
Thank you for contacting us.
We would like to confirm that your son will need to apply for a 1 month-single entry visa for his 17-day trip to Vietnam before entering Vietnam. For your case, there are two common ways to apply for a tourist visa to Vietnam as follows:
1. Applying for Vietnam Visa at Vietnam Embassies/Consulates (effective for all citizens and all borders in Vietnam): Please go to the Embassy/Consulate of Vietnam abroad to apply the visa in person. Kindly contact them for detailed procedure and fees. You can visit here to find the one that nearest your place.
2. Applying for Vietnam Visa on Arrival with vietnamvisaagency.com (applicable for air travellers only): If you are flying to Vietnam, you may consider to apply for visas on arrival. You can submit your online visa application here, or kindly send us your passport scan and confirm us your date of arrival, the type of visa you wish to apply for further support.
Kindly note that with the second option, Russian passport holders are exempted from the stamping fee when you get the official stamped into your passport at Vietnam international airports. Therefore, you only need to make a payment for the processing fee.
We hope that the information is helpful for you and should you have any further concerns, feel free to contact us.
Best regards,
Kathy Nguyen (Ms.)
