Foreign travelers can visit Vietnam from this November, 2021

1. The roadmap to open Vietnam’s border

On 2 Nov, the Vietnamese Government has just approved the schedule to reopen the country to international travellers. The plan will be covered 3 main stages as follows:

Stage 1: From December 2021

• The inbound flight packages include the flight ticket to Vietnam, quarantine hotels and meals and Covid-19 tests in Vietnam.
• Applied for citizens of Australia, France, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and several others who get fully vaccinated for Covid.
• Quarantine requirements: 7 days at hotel upon arrival in Vietnam.
• Available destinations include Phu Quoc, Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa), Quang Nam and Da Nang.

Stage 2: Period from January – March 2022

• The list of source destinations will be expanded, Quang Ninh is added.
• Applied for all foreigners who get fully vaccinated for Covid.
• Quarantine requirements: 7 days at hotel upon arrival in Vietnam.
• After spending 7 full days in the first destination, travellers can visit other destinations including Phu Quoc, Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa), Quang Nam, Da Nang and Quang Ninh.

Stage 3: From April 2022

• This stage is considered as the full open for all international travels with good conditions to ensure epidemic prevention and control as prescribed.

2. The requirements to get an entry permit during these periods.

To be allowed entry, travelers are asked to prepare the following documents,

• The valid proof of full vaccination or Covid-19 recovery –  Currently, Vietnam accepts Covid-19 vaccine passports from 72 countries and territories and find out the update here
• Negative PCR-test previous 72 hours before departure flight
• Full tour package
• Medical or travel insurance including coverage for Covid-19 treatment worth at least $50,000
