Frage: Get a tourist visa for Vietnam for Americans
I am a US citizen, looking to go to Vietnam for vacation next year. I heard that visa on arrival for US citizens it’s quite expensive. Is there a cheaper alternative to get a tourist visa for Vietnam for Americans? Vielen Dank.

We would like to confirm that there are 2 common ways to apply for a Vietnam visa:
1. Beantragung eines Vietnam-Visums bei vietnamesischen Botschaften / Konsulaten (wirksam für alle Bürger und alle Grenzen in Vietnam): If you wish to get the visa stamp in United States, please go to the Embassy of Vietnam in the USA to apply the visa in person. 2. Beantragung für Vietnam-Visum bei Ankunft mit uns (gilt nur für Flugreisende): If you find that applying for visas via the Embassies is not convenient for you, Sie können ein Visum bei der Ankunft in Betracht ziehen. Es dauert nur 1 - 2 working days to process your visa application and once your visa application is approved by Vietnam Immigration Department, Sie erhalten das Visumgenehmigungsschreiben, mit dem Sie nach Vietnam fliegen und den offiziellen Visumstempel erhalten, wenn Sie an einem der internationalen Flughäfen Vietnams ankommen.
Für Ihre Information, von 25 August 2016, all visa applications from United States passport holders are converted to 1 year-multiple entry visa with the maximum length of stay for each visit is 90 Tage (official Diplomatic Note is attached below). Kindly note that the stamping fee of USD 135.00/person is applied accordingly. The current processing fee for 1 year-multiple entry is USD 35.00/person.
